2025 MINORS BASEBALL - Spring 2025

South Jeffco Sports Association have provided 4-8 year-olds in our community the opportunity to play baseball. Players will learn about the game, team sports, and develop skills that are important to being successful in baseball and life.     Frequently Asked Questions
    • Can my 3 year old play?: We have found that most 3 year olds, even when they are great playing at home, get overwhelmed in games and refuse to play or don't have the attention span for the game. This has caused teams to have to forfeit runs and/or games. We allow players that will be 4 no later than March 1st.
    • What is Opening Day: Opening Day is a tradition where the players are presented to the fans by marching around the baseball field, have a ceremony, first pitch, meet Dinger, etc. After that, they move right into opening day games.
    • Playing with a sibling.: Many times we are asked if siblings can play together. It depends on the age difference. We can never play a player down in an age group that their are not appropriate for. We will never play a player up unless they are within a year of that level and are skill appropriate. This is a safety issue, as well as keeping things fair for all players involved.
    • My player wants to play for Bear Creek?: You're in the right place. SJSA facilitates Bear Creek's registration. There will be a question pertaining to this very thing in the registration.
    • What do we need to provide?: A glove, bat, cleats, batting helmet and pants (see the coach for color of pants) and water bottle. We provide a hat and jersey.

    • Cancelled Games Due to Weather: If games are cancelled on a Saturday, the game will be moved to the same time and place 8 days later, on the following Sunday. Please plan accordingly so the team has enough players.
    • End-Of-Season Tournament: The schedule for the tournament will be posted the day after the final regular season games are played. The tournament is played the very next Saturday and Sunday, after the end of the regular season, and is single-elimination. Please plan accordingly.
    • When will I hear from a coach?: Rosters will be formed from the registration base on March 2nd. You should hear from a coach by March 5, 2025. Practices will start the week of March 10, 2025.
    • Can I request practice days?: We cannot guarantee practice days in our league. We work around the head coach's requests when scheduling the team.
